Host a murder mystery party with zero prep
No booklets to print and no host who has to sit out. The big screen runs the story with a narrator voice, everyone gets a secret character on their phone, and clues drop each round until you name the culprit. Free, 4 to 20 players, about 45 minutes.
How the game works
- Pick a case on the big screen and everyone scans the QR code.
- Read your character on your phone. Four to six players get a suspect role with a private secret. Anyone extra plays a detective, so up to 20 people can play.
- Three rounds of clues. Each round, new memories appear on your phone. Question each other, share what you know, hide what you don't want found out.
- Vote for the culprit. The narrator reveals what really happened.
The cases
- The Vanishing Birthday Cake (family-friendly, ages 8+): at Nana Rosie's 80th, the chocolate cake vanishes from the laundry bench just before the candles.
- The Golden Spatula Caper (family-friendly, ages 8+): at the street bake-off, the trophy has been swapped for a rubber chicken.
- Last Call on the Rooftop (classic whodunit, ages 12+): a startup founder collapses after a toast at a rooftop launch party.
- The Willowmere Weekend (classic whodunit, ages 12+): the lights go out in a country manor and Great-Aunt Hester vanishes before signing her new will.
Classic cases are whodunits but nothing gory. Every case is available in English, 中文, Español and Français.
Want a longer, deeper mystery?
Role-Play Mystery is TogetherPlay's take on jubensha (剧本杀), China's hit party game.
